Location: 17 kilometers west of the city of Granada
Lying south of the A-92 Seville motorway, the Airport is
located next to Vega Del Genil and 17 kilometers west of the
city of Granada. The airport runway is 2,900m long and 45m
wide. The Aircraft parking is available for 5 aircraft such
as 737's and space for 14 small aircraft of 15-20 meters.
Just about 20-minute drive to the Granada city centre, the
airport chiefly caters to domestic flights to Barcelona Mallorca
and Madrid besides some of the international flights to London
and charter flights to other key cities in Europe..
There are several car hire companies and taxis providing
airport pick up and dropping services making traveling easy
and enjoyable.
INFORMATION AND HELP DESKS
The information counters are placed at the Arrivals and Departures
halls along with a tourist information counter in the Arrivals
hall to assist with further travel plans and flight details.
AIRPORT FACILITIES
Money and communications:
The airport terminals have the facility of changing their
currency at the Bureaux de change at standard exchange rates.
There are three ATM machines located around the terminal and
a post office just next to the meeting hall.
Eating and drinking:
The airport has two casual dining lounges, two snacks bar
offering local foodstuffs, liquor, magazines and gift items.
The restaurant serves a wide selection of snacks, sandwiches
etc along with a full range of alcoholic and non alcoholic
drinks.
Shopping:
The airport though mostly caters to domestic flights; passengers
are often surprised to see the vast range of goods put for
sale at the duty free shop. Flooded with exquisite goodies
right from perfumes, jewellery, watches, leather and electronic
goods, to tobacco, wines, and spirits and lot more, one can
take home pretty souvenirs for their loved ones.
Parking:
The airport terminal is well equipped with parking facilities.
The car parking is available for 450 cars. However, parking
is free for the first half hour, and then charged for hourly
parking. The rate is approximately €1 while for long-term
parking; the 24-hour rate is about €8. There is a valley
parking outside the terminal entrance.
Travelers seeking assistance for the mobility impaired can
approach the parking attendants.
Other facilities:
There is a VIP lounge equipped with internet and two arrival
areas, three boarding gates. Besides, there are baby care
areas, and information desks at both the arrival and departure
terminals. Display screens are posted throughout the Terminal
with accurate flight information. Travelers can approach the
friendly staffs for assistance on boarding, luggage inquiry
etc
DISABLED FACILITIES
The airport has facilities for disabled passengers like ramps,
lifts, specially adapted telephones, and toilets. Wheelchairs
are provided by airlines and the staff can also help wheelchair
passengers through customs and immigration; passengers wanting
to avail such facilities or any special assistance should
request upon booking a ticket. Disabled car parking spaces
are available. There are two lifts to take passengers to different
levels.
Flight information, tourist information, hotel reservations,
car-rental, exchange bureau, left luggage facilities, all
can be arranged for visitors by the friendly airport staff.
